About B4Future

Connecting security requirements with engineering work

B4Future works on the security of products and industrial systems. We help identify risks, organise evidence and prepare practical actions.

Three areas, one perspective

Product security extends across releases, updates and the support period. OT security depends on the process, operator and suppliers. The ability to change cryptography requires an architecture that can respond to new requirements.

We bring these perspectives together in our CRA services, OT assessments and audits, training, and preparation for PQC and crypto agility.

Technical expertise

Products, embedded systems and firmware

Analysis of device threats and security architectures, hardware and software dependencies, update mechanisms and the information needed to maintain subsequent releases.

Cryptography and secure communications

Design and review of cryptographic applications, key management, identity and communications. Assessment of options for changing mechanisms in long-life products.

Industrial environments and OT

Understanding dependencies between processes, automation, IT and suppliers. Connecting risk analysis with operational constraints, continuity and work planning.

B4Future’s expertise covers security architecture, threat analysis and the organisation of technical work on cyber-physical systems. We agree responsibilities, verification methods and resources for each assignment.

How we work

Context before a checklist

We start with the function of the product or process, its users, lifetime and constraints.

Evidence-based findings

We show what has been confirmed, on what basis, and what still needs to be checked.

A plan with clear ownership

We link actions to owners, priorities and a way to review progress.

Interizon

Interizon is a Polish National Key Cluster in the ICT sector. Łukasz Brandt, B4Future’s CTO and CSR, serves on the Interizon Cluster Council and leads its Cybersecurity Task Group. The group brings technology companies, industry, universities and public administration together around practical digital security needs. It aims to create opportunities for cooperation in which different specialisms complement one another — from software, electronics and automation to IT infrastructure, security services, research, education and advisory work. Its starting points are both market needs and the challenges faced by cluster members. Cooperation is intended to help companies develop secure products, strengthen their own resilience, prepare for regulatory requirements and identify opportunities for joint initiatives.

From knowledge exchange to joint projects

The group’s areas of work include knowledge sharing, mapping skills and needs, workshops, developing methods and initiating research, development and implementation projects. Risk analysis, approaches to audits, training and exercises play a central role in turning requirements into specific processes, decisions and technical solutions.

The group is intended to help find partners for specific challenges: developing a tool together, running a pilot, preparing an offer or building a project consortium. A company does not have to be a cybersecurity supplier to contribute. Industrial experience, technical knowledge, test infrastructure or the ability to validate a solution in a real environment can be equally valuable.

B4Future’s contribution

B4Future contributes a perspective connecting regulation, security architecture, risk analysis, auditing, education and product development. This includes methodological frameworks and solution concepts that can provide a basis for further cooperation with technology, industrial and research partners.

Another important direction is cooperation with the dual-use and autonomous vehicle groups, focusing on the security of cyber-physical systems, AI, connectivity, cryptography and solution validation in pilots and Living Lab environments.

Shared knowledge and methods should strengthen members rather than replace their business activities. Tools and initiatives should be developed with respect for partners’ intellectual property, confidentiality and business independence.

Baltic Security Pact

R&D B4Future is a signatory to the Baltic Security Pact — a declaration of cooperation on digital security, signed in Gdańsk on 8 December 2025.

The pact supports knowledge sharing and cooperation across the security ecosystem. It addresses challenges in product security and the CRA, as well as changes arising from advances in artificial intelligence and quantum technologies.

INSIDE and Chips JU

INSIDE Industry Association
Chips Joint Undertaking

B4Future is a member of INSIDE Industry Association, a European association bringing together companies, universities and research institutes developing intelligent digital systems. INSIDE is a constituent partner of the Chips Joint Undertaking (Chips JU), a public-private partnership of the European Union, participating states and industry supporting research and innovation in semiconductors and electronic components and systems.

Within this international community, we have participated in initiatives to build project consortia preparing for Chips JU calls. Our involvement has covered cybersecurity for embedded devices and cyber-physical systems (CPS), post-quantum cryptography (PQC) and crypto agility — the ability to change cryptographic mechanisms securely.

We gained valuable experience in international cooperation, working with major organisations in European industry and research. We also took a leading role in building an international project consortium focused on crypto agility and PQC.

Engagement in the dual-use ecosystem

B4Future helps build cooperation at the intersection of cybersecurity and dual-use technologies — solutions with civilian and defence applications. Our involvement in the INTERIZON Cluster connects the expertise of companies, specialists and research communities, and helps identify opportunities for joint initiatives supporting security and resilience.

One example is the panel moderated by Łukasz Brandt, B4Future’s CTO and CSR, at the Baltic Dual Use Hackathon 2026: “Cybersecurity & Dual-Use — from cooperation in the INTERIZON Cluster to NATO DIANA”. Organised as an open discussion of INTERIZON’s Cybersecurity Task Group, it explored the role of cybersecurity in dual-use technologies and the importance of cooperation within the innovation ecosystem.
